Do you use growth hormones?
In over 100 years of making milk here at Shaw Farm, no cow has ever been asked to do more than her job. That means, no artificial growth hormones have ever been used and no antibiotics have ever been given to our cows.
What do you feed your cows?
We have 2 herds of cows with 2 different diets which are balanced by our herd nutritionist for the benefit of the cows. Our certified organic herd has a diet of grass, hay, and certified organic grain. From April through November they graze on pasture here at the farm.
The traditional herd has a diet that includes corn and grass as well as grain and hay.
What is a porch box?
A porch box is an insulated metal box with a lid.
Do I need a porch box?
We recommend porch boxes to protect your delivery and insulate it against heat and cold. The standard size and function of the porch box is also convenient for your driver. A refundable $50 deposit will be applied. Alternatively, you may supply your own cooler.
Do I have to pay a deposit for the glass bottles?
We do not charge a bottle deposit to our home delivery customers. However, we request that you return our bottles to your driver in a timely manner.
How do I return my bottles?
Thank you for helping us to reuse the glass bottles! Just rinse the bottles and put them out in the porch box to be picked up by your delivery driver. Please remove the caps. We then wash, sanitize, and put them back into circulation.
Do you deliver in my neighborhood?
We deliver to the following towns in the Merrimack Valley : Andover, North Andover, Dracut, Lowell, Chelmsford, Tyngsboro, Westford, Dunstable, West Methuen, and Tewksbury; and in Hudson, Pelham, and Windham, New Hampshire. Contact us if your town is not listed.
How often do you deliver?
Deliveries are made on a weekly basis.
Is there a delivery charge?
Now Shaw Farm home delivery customers can save by purchasing more! We offer our products at the same competitive prices that our farm store customers enjoy, with the delivery service funded with a delivery fee that decreases as you purchase more.
Purchases of $10.00 or less, $6.25 delivery fee.
Purchases of $10.00 to $15.00, $5.25 delivery fee
Purchases of $15.00 and over, $4.25 delivery fee
What if I’m not at home when the delivery comes?
If you will not be home, your driver will place your items in a porch box or a cooler. Be sure to arrange for the milk to be put in a refrigerator as soon as possible.

We encourage all customers to order at least 4 items per delivery.
What is a standing order?
A standing order is a group of items you feel you will need each week. This order will not need to be called in or emailed in each week. We will keep it on file. However, should you NOT need an order or need to alter your standing order please be sure to call us the day before. A trip to a home where there is a standing order that has not been cancelled ahead of time will result in a $5.25 delivery charge.

What are the forms of payment for Home Delivery?
Shaw Farm operates it’s delivery service on a current basis, and all prices are on the website. We encourage you to keep a credit card on file for simplicity. However you may leave a check for the driver but you must be sure to add in your delivery charge. If you would like to pay by check that is fine, however we like to keep a credit card on file for back up. In the off chance that we are unable to cash your check. And obviously..cash always works! Once your credit card is charged you will receive a receipt of the transaction in your email.
